Please note that for the safety of our patients, their families, and our staff, on-site visitation is no longer allowed at Vermilion Behavioral Health Systems.

  • We are offering visitation through telehealth services so that our patients can remain connected to their loved ones.
  • Alternate methods of communication for other services are being vetted and may be offered when deemed clinically appropriate.

Levels of Care

Through a multidisciplinary team approach, we aim to promote each individual’s mental, emotional, and social wellness by utilizing proven therapeutic techniques and providing a structured treatment program. It is through our specialized programs and services that we meet the needs of our patients, their families, and our referral sources.At Vermilion’s treatment clinic we offer the following levels of care:

  • Adolescent psychiatric inpatient treatment for youth, ages 12-17
  • Adult psychiatric inpatient treatment
  • Adolescent substance abuse inpatient detox treatment for youth, ages 12-17
  • Adult substance abuse inpatient detox treatment

Comprehensive Treatment at Vermilion

During their stay at Vermilion, patients are seen routinely by their attending psychiatrist or practitioner and are monitored 24/7 by a qualified nursing staff and behavioral health technicians. All services are provided by a multidisciplinary team of specialty clinical staff, including social workers, counselors, addiction counselors, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses and nurse practitioners, mental health technicians, recreational therapists, and case managers.At Vermilion’s mental health treatment clinic in Lafayette, our main therapeutic model is rational emotive behavioral therapy (REBT). Through our treatment program, patients are able to explore and process issues and challenges, increase insight and understanding of their own mental health concerns, encourage family involvement, and enlist community support to assist them in meeting their treatment goals while in the hospital and beyond.
