Carlos Camacho, RN

Director of Nursing

I was introduced into the world of healthcare by the age of 18 when I went to school for nursing. I graduated from a local diploma program as an LPN in 2005 and obtained my first 4 years of experience working at a level 2 trauma center on the orthopedic medical/surgical wing. In 2010 I shifted my career as an LPN to home health so that I could focus on continuing my education. I graduated from a local diploma program as an RN in 2011 and was promoted into a leadership role as a Clinical Manager in home health. In 2014, I decided it was time to learn a specialty and I was hired as a floor nurse on night shift at a local Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility (PRTF) that had 108 beds for children and adolescents. I worked up the clinical ladder into an RN Supervisor role as the facility opened a 24 bed inpatient psychiatric unit for children and adolescents. Ready for another challenge, I accepted a promotion as a Nurse Manager for the inpatient units. In 2020, I accepted a promotion as Director of Nursing providing oversight for both the PRTF and Acute Inpatient hospital assisting the team to a successful JCAHO survey for reaccreditation. I am so happy to be able to provide my talents to Vermilion Behavioral Health Systems as the Director of Nursing for the Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital and hope to continue advancing throughout my career as I work to obtain my Master’s Degree with a focus on Nursing Leadership.
